About Us

Our History

The Eastern Rehabilitation family of clinics began in 1986 when Dan Boland, Owner and CEO opened his first clinic, Halifax Physiotherapy. Recognizing the benefits of restorative treatment, Dan opened Halifax Work Hardening in 1991. Today these two clinics are known as Halifax Centre.

1996 saw the beginning of some very active years for Eastern Rehabilitation with the addition of CBI Physiotherapy currently located in Bedford and the establishment of a partnership with a national rehabilitation company, CBI Health Inc.

In 1997, Brunswick Centre in Saint John and MacAuley Physiotherapy in Halifax were established.

1999 brought development in both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. In the Sydney area, Island Physiotherapy and Sydney Physiotherapy were added and in New Brunswick, Moncton Physiotherapy & Work Hardening Centre joined our group. In 2000, CBI Physiotherapy - Tantallon (Formerly Bay Centre) opened its doors for the first time as the newest member of our network.

In 2006, we grew again as CBI Island Physiotherapy in Charlottetown joined our group.

2007 was an extremely busy year as we added 4 clinics to our group - Phoenix Rehabilitation Services in Sydney and Fredericton Physiotherapy Kingswood, King St. and Regent St became part of our network.
